Before you search for Charlotte NC real estate, develop a needs vs. wants list
Everyone has a picture in mind of their ideal home. This picture includes all of the features you not only need, but have long desired. However, when it comes time to buying a home, the desires cost more. While it’s nice to imagine having a beautifully landscaped backyard, or a sunroom, perhaps even some specialty appliances, these are usually considered luxury items, which can add considerably to the price of your Charlotte NC real estate.
That’s why it’s always a good idea to develop a needs vs. wants list. Begin listing items that you really need like sufficient space, garage, number of bedrooms and baths. For most people, basic needs should be considered first. After that, then consider additional desires, if you can financially manage these “wants.”
With a Charlotte NC real estate wants vs. needs list in-hand, you’re less likely to be caught up in the excitement of the pursuit of that picture perfect home that you have in mind. You’ll have a good idea of what you want, within your price range, and be pleased if you can afford those additional items that are on your want list.
Now that you have that list in-hand, sneak a little search for Charlotte homes for sale!

Very good idea, Debe. The wants tends to cloud the right house when you find it. What you need and what you want are so, so different. And as you say, the latter is generally going to be more expensive.
