Charlotte Area’s Jobless Rate Lowest Since May 2008
Charlotte continues the recovery process with the lowest jobless rate since the recession began. The Charlotte Metro area posted unemployment rates at 6.2%, down from its lowest since September 2013 or 7.4%. Areas showing the strongest growth include:
- Professional and business services – 8,700 jobs added for a 6% gain
- Trade, transportation and utilities – 6,500 jobs added for a 4.6% gain
- Construction – 2,500 jobs added for a 6% gain
The Charlotte area’s jobless rate dipped to 6.2 percent in September, its lowest level since the post-recession recovery began, new government figures show.
Yes, we believe Charlotte’s recovery process is wrapping up nicely! Of course, being in the real estate business, we love seeing the construction-added jobs showing a 6% gain. GREAT news for the Charlotte real estate recovery process!
