You are viewing: Charlotte Neighborhoods > Old Charlotte >NoDa

The North Davidson Arts District, affectionately known as NoDa, is a former mill community that has, over recent years, been transformed into a funky arts district with galleries, eateries and performance halls. Only three miles northeast of Uptown, the neighborhood, once known as North Charlotte, is made up of mostly small Craftsman style bungalows. These homes, built at the turn of the century to house workers at textile mills, have been a popular renovation project area for many contractors and residents. NoDa is also increasing the number of new condos and townhomes, including some in converted mills, in the community. Many of the historic bungalows have undergone renovation, and affordable home prices in NoDA attract new and first time homebuyers who enjoy the proximity to Uptown Charlotte in a neighborhood with an eclectic, neighborhood feel.
Don’t miss: Friday Gallery Crawl, on the first and third Fridays of the month. Concerts at The Evening Muse, or casual southwest dining at Cabo Fish Taco in NoDa.
