225 More Jobs Coming to Charlotte via Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Cable (TWC), a national cable television provider which operates in 28 states with 47,000 employees across the nation, plans to expand their corporate campus to more efficiently enhance the customer experience. Time Warner Cable is building their national data center in Charlotte, adding 225 jobs and investing $101 million. The plans to build a national data center and new corporate office building in Charlotte were announced this week by Governor Beverly Purdue. TWC will be adding nearly 10% more new corporate positions to the company’s Charlotte employment of 2,500. The average annual salary for the new jobs in Charlotte is $61,044.
TWC will be building a 178,000 square-foot facility on their 33 acres of land on Crescent Executive Drive. The new building will house corporate accounting, human resources and IT functions.
“Including today’s announcement, Time Warner Cable will have invested more than $200 million in the Charlotte economy, created more than 1,200 jobs and over the past decade on the corporate campus, become part of the fabric of our region,” said Mayor Anthony Foxx. “Today’s announcement is evidence that businesses in Charlotte can continue to grow despite economic conditions. This is an example of the City’s dedication to improving business and employment opportunities.”
“Time Warner’s continued investment in Charlotte is impressive,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber President. “Today’s announcement confirms that our business climate – including a cost of living that is 90 percent of the national average, a skilled and growing workforce, and the ability to connect to the rest of the world via the Charlotte airport – remains competitive and attractive. This is great news for the citizens of Charlotte.”
Thanks to the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue, the N.C. Department of Commerce, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte for their tenacity in accomplishing this major project for the building of our Charlotte economy.
