You are viewing: Charlotte Neighborhoods > Uptown > Third Ward
Charlotte’s Third Ward is the most diverse of the city’s four original quadrants. It includes a sports and entertainment area focused on Bank of America Stadium and a planned AAA baseball stadium with a 5-acre park. Residential neighborhoods are a mix of single-family homes, apartments and condominiums, with dozens of new developments planned, under construction and nearing completion. Anchoring the west side of Third Ward is Bank of America’s new 1.5 million square foot mixed use complex called Gateway Village. This innovative complex combines technology-oriented office space, over 500 new residential units, a public park, shops and restaurants.
One of the newest areas to Charlotte’s Third Ward is the “Third Ward Warehouse District” which includes sleek urban developments featuring restored warehouse buildings. Some communities in the warehouse district include: First Row, Gallery Lofts, The Annex, Skybox Towns and Luxury Lofts. Most homes in Charlotte’s Third Ward are condominium flats and townhomes with a SOHO, lofty-urban flavor. A major draw to the area is Gateway Village and the proximity to Bank of America Stadium.
