Just east of Uptown Charlotte, Plaza-Midwood is a hip yet, historical neighborhood of restored bungalows, funky shops, local pubs and fantastic restaurants. From tattoo parlors to antique shops, pawn shops to upscale and urban clothing boutiques, bookstores and more, Plaza-Midwood has so much to offer.
The Plaza-Midwood neighborhood is located approximately one mile northeast of Uptown Charlotte. The neighborhood is roughly bound by Hawthorne Lane to the west, The Plaza to the north, Briar Creek Road and the Charlotte Country Club to the east and Central Avenue to the south. Plaza-Midwood is locally known as one of Charlotte’s most diverse and eclectic neighborhoods, and is considered one of Charlotte’s most walkable communities.
Don’t miss: The homemade bread at Nova’s Bakery or outdoor ping pong at Thomas Street Tavern. Try a late night “Big Block” burger with fried pickles at The Penguin. Try deep south cooking at Dish or New York style pizza at Fuel Pizza Café, in a restored 1936 filling station right in the heart of Plaza-Midwood.
