Buyers oftentimes look at the immediate appeal of homes, forgetting that this is one of the largest investments they’ll make in their lifetime.  Interior features may be shadowing judgement that truly requires one to look at the ‘big picture’ when making such a large investment.

Much like the smell of a new car – a fabulously decorated home can be intoxicating but, saving $10,000 by buying a 1-2 year old luxury automobile is probably the better choice for investment purposes; rather than purchasing a brand new car.  Buyers tend to overlook resale value when making a Charlotte home purchase by falling in love with interior or features and totally overlooking the investment  value in a home.

How has the home appreciated over the years?  Is the location a premier one – one that tends to always be atop the local market values for resale?  Are you aware of planned nearby low-income housing or major road widening projects?  How are the schools in the area ranked?
