The Right Charlotte Realtor® for YOU- “Pick Me. Choose Me. Love ME!“
I had the most wonderful conversation with a client today and that conversation reminded me of two things – a wonderful article that one of our agents wrote last month and a line from Gray’s Anatomy, “Pick me. Choose me. Love me!”
My client thanked me for my understanding in a situation that would have saved me a good deal of time and ultimately made me more money, had that been my driving force behind persuading them to make a critical decision in the sale of their home. That was not the deciding factor and my wonderful clients recognized that and thanked me profusely–something that I never would have even thought that they would have noticed! Oftentimes Realtors® are consumed by the ‘almighty dollar’ but, in my humble opinion, that’s NOT the route to success.
Success to me is receiving those compliments and recommendations from current and former clients, with whom I have worked diligently to achieve their ultimate results. In any business, when money is the key driving factor, judgement is far too often clouded. Seeing clients tucked snuggly and happily in their new homes or packing those moving vans to make that cross-country haul–with smiles on their faces–is the ultimate reward for this Charlotte Realtor®!
“Pick me. Choose me. Love me!” We provide competitive market analyses (CMAs) for Charlotte home sellers who are thinking of selling their Charlotte homes and off we go to meet potential future clients, armed with the necessary data to present to these sellers. Our CMAs are honest, REAL data that we painstakingly review, analyze and provide to Charlotte home sellers to help guide them in reality – their expected bottom line.
I am often faced with comments such as, well this other agent “told us he/she could get $50,000 more for our home.” The sad reality is that I have received that comment and further explained that my numbers are never far from what a Charlotte home seller can expect to get for their home. They are unaware of the strategy that agents use that we call ‘marking-up’ the property value; some agents do this in order to ‘win’ the listing and then coach the clients on reducing the price when the home ultimately doesn’t sell.
The problem with this strategy is that these agents don’t realize care that this costs the sellers money – and sometimes, a significant amount of money. You see, the longer a home is on the market, the less money a seller will get for their home; it becomes a ‘stale’ listing.
For us, honesty IS the best policy and our goal of getting the best value for our sellers in the shortest amount of time (to prevent a ‘stale’ listing) is of UTMOST importance! We are certainly not on the other end of the spectrum either – some agents claim that if the house doesn’t sell, they’ll sell it for free or buy it from you! Those agents tend to list well below market value and again, ultimately significantly effects the sellers’ bottom line.
