Midwood Smokehouse is strongly rooted in the BBQ traditions of both the Carolinas and Texas. Pitmaster, Matt Barry sees to it that the BBQ traditions of both the Carolinas and Texas are in every dish. Serving a variety of Texas-style, slow-smoked barbecue, the pitmaster uses an all-wood smoker that burns hickory logs 24/7 – you can imagine, the aroma is simply delightful.

Whole hog, beef brisket and other smoked meats, even smoked salmon are the entrees that are mainstays on the menu.

Sides include their famous mac & cheese, bacon-wrapped jalapeños and their pimento cheese fries. Imagine homemade pimento cheese dollops over crinkle-cut fries with either chopped pork or beef brisket – it’s a side or enough for a meal! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

The first Midwood Smokehouse opened in Midwood in May, 2011. Since that time the restaurant has expanded to the Montford/Park Road & Ballantyne communities as well as new restaurants in Huntersville and now, Columbia, SC.
