Why I chose Harwood Landing as the place to live and raise my kids.
Why did I choose Harwood Landing to live and raise my children?
I chose this area and neighborhood because of the quietness and location to the surrounding areas. We live in that county/country type atmosphere. We are nestled between Lake Norman, Downtown Charlotte and Belmont. I am within a 20 – 30 minute drive to each of these surrounding cities. Plus, I live only 10 minutes from Mountain Island Lake.
My neighborhood is very quiet, peaceful and friendly. I do not have neighbors; I have extended families. That’s why I’m glad I chose to live here. My neighbors and I share holidays, cookouts, birthday’s and other special events at each other’s homes. We have an annual 4th of July and New Year’s Eve fireworks show. Everyone knows my kids and I knows theirs. We watch out for each others homes when someone is away and I would trust them in my home and with my kids any time.
I had two young children when I bought here in 2004; they are now teenagers. This is what they had to say about growing up in Charlotte and in the Harwood Landing Neighborhood:
“We enjoyed growing up as kids to teenagers with the other neighbors’ kids. We all share a good relationship. We enjoy doing things together with the other kids like going to the movies, Carowinds, having sleepovers, birthday parties or just hanging out in the neighborhood. We also like the city parks located near the neighborhood and really like the idea of being able to stay outside after dark and knowing it’s safe here.”
