Featured Charlotte Vendor of the Week – Mullen Electric

During a recent walk-through, our client had an electrical re-inspection done by an electrician who quoted outrageous prices to make the repairs that he stated were not done by the sellers’ electrician.  Mind you, this was two days before Closing as it had taken quite a while for the seller to make repairs and then for our buyer to get on the electrician’s schedule!

Of course, the sellers’ electrician had written detailed information as to what was done as per our inspector’s requests but, this second opinion stated that the work had not been done and had written a proposal for over $1,300 to cover the costs of the repairs that “had not been done.”

The Closing was sure to be delayed to resolve this issue and our thoughts were to obtain a third opinion as quickly as possible.  Both parties agreed to go with whatever the third electrician stated needed to be done.  But, where on earth do you find an electrician with only a 24-hour notice?

Eddy Mullen with Mullen Electric who knows ‘old’ homes (as this one was) and who manages all of the electric in our historic The Maxwell House Group office was highly recommended by my business partners, Shonn Ross and Lexie Longstreet.

So, I phoned Eddy to see if there was a remote chance of getting him to come out the following day (the day before Closing!) and he agreed to do so.

Everyone involved in the transaction was present for the meeting.  Eddy arrived and reviewed the inspection report and quickly put everyone at ease.  He taught us all several things about electricity as he moved through the home, testing and evaluating the items in question.

In the end, there was absolutely nothing else that needed to be done for the electrical in the home!  Eddy not demonstrated to us that there are honest, knowledgeable electricians available to us but, he also saved this transaction!

Eddy has now gained at least 6 new clients for life (all of us present for his evaluation)!  Thank you, Eddy!  We’ll be calling you soon, I’m sure!
