There’s plenty going on all across Charlotte this weekend but, here are a few highlights of the weekend…

17th Annual Charlotte Race For The Cure® – October 5

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® will begin at 7:15AM tomorrow, October 5. This fundraising event is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Join participants to raise both funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer, celebrate survivors and honor those who have lost their battle to this epidemic disease.

Participants may run, walk, or sleep in for the Cure®! Choose either the 1 mile course or the 5k course. The course uses East Third Street, South Church Street, West Summit Avenue, South Tryon Street, East Morehead Street, and South McDowell Street.

***Please be aware that Morehead street to be closed between 8:30-9:30AM on Saturday 10/5. If you’re headed to or from Uptown, try alternate routes such as E. 3rd or E. Stonewall Streets.***

Fifth Annual Mecktober Fest – October 5

Saturday, October 5^th from 12pm-10pm at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.
It’s our favorite time of the year again! Celebrate one of Charlotte’s most popular events, Mecktober Fest “German-style” at Charlotte’s hometown brewery. Fresh beer, food, and 3 live bands to entertain you all afternoon and into the evening. Once again, the dynamic 9-piece Holzhackern Tyrolean Band will be headlining, bringing Bavarian music and more to the Fest!

Carolina Renaissance Festival – October 5 – November 24

The Carolina Renaissance Festival is one of the most interactive entertainment shows you’ll ever attend. Enjoy ongoing entertainment presented on 11 stages every event day from October 5th through November 24th. You’ll find comedy, music, dancing, circus performers, jousting knights on horseback and much more! Sit back and relax or become a part of the action as you are surrounded by over 500 costumed characters roaming the festival village!
