Being in the center of everything is always an asset, especially when you’re referring to location. A couple of decades ago our Downtown was re-named “Uptown” to highlight the major improvements/progress that our formerly, fairly shabby Downtown was reputed to be. Shortly thereafter, the area became known as ‘Center City.’ I always questioned that nickname because Uptown is more north of the city and what is truly, geographically the center of the city is the SouthPark community!
SouthPark is a prestigious address that offers wonderful proximity to everything Charlotte. We are 12 minutes from Uptown and 12 minutes from Ballantyne (north and south) and the same distance from Cotswold on the east side and Dilworth on the west side. It really doesn’t get more ‘central’ than that, does it?! The central location in the city may just be the reason that SouthPark is one of the southeast’s largest live/work communities as well.
A variety of housing styles fill the SouthPark community, ranging from 1950’s ranch properties in Beverly Woods and Barclay Downs to newer multi-million-dollar homes in neighborhoods like Quail Hollow, Carmel Park, Foxcroft, Sharon Hills and the exclusive gated communities of Morrocroft and nearby Seven Eagles. There is a small area of SouthPark (in which Barclay Downs is located) that is located in zip code 28209 (not included in this data due to skewing with the inclusion of Myers Park in the 28209 zip code).
