What Is the Agent That You’re Thinking of Hiring Telling You When They Ask YOU to Pay for Marketing & Advertising?
A friend of mine has a neighbor who is thinking of selling her Charlotte home, despite my wonderful friend’s ‘pitch’ for them to hire me! Some homes sell themselves but, most don’t. However, most sellers think that their house is ‘the best’ and is one of those that will sell themselves.
That’s rarely the case–especially now during the internet boom where Charlotte real estate agents need to be sure that every home that they list are marketed as thoroughly online as possible. Sadly for many sellers, only about 3% of agents are actually doing this type of marketing for their sellers.
My friend’s neighbor was informed that they have to pay for marketing materials, including photos and the virtual tour if they hire this particular agent.
What exactly is that saying to the Charlotte home sellers? It’s saying one of only two things…
- The agent has no operating capital. How does one run a business (which is what all Charlotte real estate agents are–business owners), with no operating capital?
- The agent has no confidence in his/her ability to actually SELL the property. Marketing, including videography and photography, should ALWAYS be expenses covered by the Charlotte real estate agent. That is part of doing business!
If you’re interviewing real estate agents to sell your Charlotte luxury home, be sure that you are interviewing the best Charlotte real estate agents–the ones who have the confidence to sell your Charlotte home AND the marketing budget to cover the expenses required to do business!
And, if you really want to see how well your agent is marketing to the 95% of home buyers who are finding their homes online, GOOGLE the agents who you’re considering hiring. You’ll quickly see the agents whose marketing skills are superior!
